Welcome!

Barbie Lynn Gervais is an Equine Facilitator.

Barbie has worked with horses in various capacities for over 10 years.  She will hold space and share with you, “A Journey of Healing and Transformation through the Way of the Horse,” a unique therapeutic experience provided through EAL (Equine Assisted Learning).

Horses have a unique ability to mirror our thoughts and feelings, and are able to provide connection and insight on a level humans cannot often communicate. As your facilitator, I will explore with you and the horse to help encourage these insights from the therapeutic side. Together as a trio, amazing transformations are able to be facilitated in a way a traditional office-based setting cannot provide. By being out in the open air of the farm and connecting with nature, the horses, and all of the other animals present (pigs, ducks, goats, and whatever else may wander by), the ability to experience thoughts and feelings fully in a hands-on, supportive, and safe environment is achieved.

Equine Assisted Learning does not consist of horseback riding lessons.  The majority of the work will be done on the ground.  Sessions may include riding a horse while being led around by the equine facilitator while the therapist works with you from the ground.  You will definitely experience lots of petting, grooming, leading the horse, and close connection with these beautiful animals.

Who is EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) for:

We offer individual or group learning for anyone wanting to explore and deepen their appreciation for life. We would love to welcome your leadership team, group, family, employees, classroom (school or homeschool) or any other combination of humans to our farm for a unique experience. We offer a variety of workshops and groups that can be tailored to your specific situation.

At Equine Spirit, we address topics of self-awareness. Self-awareness is about recognizing and understanding your emotions – what you’re feeling and why – as well as appreciating how they affect those around you as well self-esteem, leadership, motivation, social skills, respect, trust, and relationships.

Individual Learning has been successful in over coming various types of  PTSD, Addictions. Anxiety and Depression

Individual Sessions

Individual Sessions all start with a client consultation and intake form where we will discuss and decide together the best way to move forward. Once confirmed that you would like to proceed, a deposit will be collected for the first session.

Sessions are subject to our cancellation policy.

Workshops and Groups

Workshops are available in half-day or full-day sessions, and designed to be a one-time, 2 or 3-day experience.

Groups are 60-90 minutes depending on the number of participants and topics being discussed. They happen once a week at a duration depending on the size of the group or individual needs (6-8 sessions)

Programs are flexible to accommodate the needs of the group. Sessions are subject to our cancellation policy.

Meet Our Farm Friends (Animal Team)

Pigs, Goats and Ducks and other wild creatures that sometimes wander by.  While these animals are not often used directly as part of the Equine Assisted Learning process, they certainly bring smiles and are fun to observe as part of time spent on the farm.

Be Prepared

Due to the nature of this work, it is required that you wear close-toed shoes (sneakers or boots are preferred), and pants are highly recommended.  Yes, even when it’s hot out! You will be outside in the elements on a working farm; you’re going to get dirty in the best kind of way!

Hours and Availability

Equine Spirit offers sessions Monday through Saturday. It offers a flexible schedule to fit a wide variety of needs.
